History & Legacy

Serving our community since 1902

Since 1902, Glendale Cemetery has been part of the fabric of Bloomfield and the surrounding communities.

Created as a non-sectarian, nonprofit cemetery, Glendale was founded to ensure that every family—regardless of faith or background—would have a peaceful and dignified place of rest.

For more than a century, we’ve walked alongside our neighbors through life’s most meaningful moments, providing care and comfort while honoring generations of families. Today, our 55 acres of green, tree-lined grounds reflect not only the history of our area, but also the stories of the more than 50,000 families we have had the privilege to serve.

From the beginning, Glendale has been guided by a simple promise: to care for this sacred space in perpetuity, so that it remains a place of reflection, connection, and community for generations to come.

Every year I go there to visit family and the place looks better and better. Grounds are always well taken care of. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. First class…..Thank you!

I want to thank all the staff members at Glendale Cemetery Association. They were professional, helpful and showed me compassion. I will never forget the love they have shown me.
